Christian Girl Must Haves for Bible Study 2021
It is easy to get overwhelmed when you are starting your Christian journey and are trying to decide what Bible study tools you need. This will depend on your age, level of knowledge of the Bible (beginner, intermediate, advance), and budget.
At the age of 27, I have not read the Bible much for myself. I started with the basics:
Everyday Matters Bible for Women from Amazon
Journal from Ross
Jot Highlighters from the Dollar Tree
And the Holy Spirit
Those were my necessities for reading and studying the Bible. Of course, I supplemented with teaching videos on YouTube, faith books, and devotionals.
One particular devotional I loved was Walking with Jesus by Marie Chapian
If you are a teen, I would suggest researching Bibles that are geared towards teen girls and are packed with life advice, teen devotionals, and life application lessons. It will make reading the Bible more relatable and understandable.
Easy to read versions are the NIV and NLT. I personally love the NLT and it is what I first started with. If you cannot afford a Bible (they can get pricey) ask a parent or guardian if they have one to spare.
Ross sells Bibles for under $10 but it can be a hit or miss. I am sure your local church would love to give you a Bible. You may also find a gently used one at the Good Will.
After a while, I expanded my Christian Girl Must Have Essentials to include:
NKJV Study Bible: The Complete Resource for Studying God’s Word from Amazon
Creative Devotion Non-Bleed Gel Highlighters from Ross
500 Questions and Answers from the Bible by Mark Fackler
Classic Happy Notes- Faith
Sticky notes, pens, page flags, devotionals, and faith books.
My favorite Christian authors to read faith book include Joyce Myers and Priscilla Shirer
Remember, you do not have to feel like you need to buy everything on the market. Start with a Bible geared towards your needs in a version you can understand. As you read, the Holy Spirit will help you comprehend God’s word and how it relates to your life.
