Why God Will Leave the 99 to Find You
Matthew 18: 12 “ If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?”
We as human beings are obsessed with numbers. The more the better. YouTube subscriber count must go in our biography on Instagram, when someone is introduced the host must mention how many views or followers they have, and anything less than 100 ways to do something seems insignificant. If Jesus placed emphasis on finding 1 individual, then why are we playing the numbers game?
There is a difference between wander and wonder. To wander means to roam around aimlessly without a definite plan or purpose. Basically, someone that is lost. God puts forth maximum effort to find His lost child. He will leave the other children that are already under His wing to pursue you because He cares that much. This happens through various life circumstances that He allows in order to draw you closer to Him.
It’s Not About the Numbers, it’s About the Individual.
When we start thinking about people as if they are just numbers, we start to lose focus. The truth of the matter is that number represents a person that you have personal impact and influence over. Our identity is not in the number of anything we have but it is in Christ. Whether you have a little bit or a lot, remember Christ came after the 1.
