1 Samuel 16:7 “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart’”
Success by the standard of the world means higher education, wealth, looks, the latest clothes, brand new cars, house, fame, being a boss, and having your own business. Do you have all of these things? Chances are no. When we look at ourselves and realize that we do not have everything that the world calls for, it can make us feel insecure. The bad part is when we are seeking approval from others, it can make us feel even worse. Seek approval from God instead. He calls us worthy. We are in this world, but not of the world.
Those who follow Christ know that there is so much more in store than this. I am not saying you should not obtain goals in life, but do not burn yourself out trying to obtain it all. The kingdom of heaven is at stake and you cannot take everything with you. The material things stay in this world, but where will your soul go? What determines that? Who does God say you are? Our identity, worth, and value is in Christ. We are children of God and our inheritance is in Heaven. He thinks of us as being so precious that He decided to make man from His own image!
Do not let material things and other people make you feel insecure. Trust me you are enough. The Creator of the universe calls you His special possession. When you feel insecure about yourself, let your Maker be your mirror. You bear God’s image, not the world’s. Do not let the world call you inadequate. The enemy wants you to feel insecure about yourself. Do not take the bait. Place your security and trust in God.
Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence”.
