Thoughts About Blaming God for Everything
Colossians 1:15-17 “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can’t see- such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”
You may not understand why everything happens the way it does, but know that God is sovereign (supreme power or authority) over everything. He is in control no matter what and He sets the limits and boundaries. You may ask yourself who is at fault for this suffering? Me, Him, or the devil? It literally doesn’t matter. Suffering is an inherited trait for following Christ because He suffered for our sins on the cross. Despite everything that you see going on, know that there are things happening in the background that you cannot see. Use the opportunity to draw closer to God and know that He is sovereign. God has the bigger picture at hand. He knows more and better than we will ever know. Coupled with that fact that everything will work out for the good of those who love God and the fact the God loves you, rest assured that you can be at peace.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for helping to realize that your plans for me are good and not evil. I know that bad things do happen in life either due to other people’s actions, my own actions, or evil influences in the unseen world. Whatever you do allow to happen is to strengthen me and not harm me. Help me to draw closer to you when I think that life is unfair. Help me to understand that your ways are not my ways and that you are in control of everything. I know that you are the beginning and the end and your love for me is unconditional. I ask that your peace dwell in my heart and calms my restless soul.
In Jesus Name, Amen
