Trusting God When It's Hard
It’s easy to trust God with an account full of money.
It’s easy to trust God with a house full of clothes, food, and family.
It’s easy to trust God when life is comfortable.
But would you trust God with no…
Place to stay
When you are completely uncomfortable, will you still trust Him?
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side- leaders whose decrees permit injustice? They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide. God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them.
It is hard to believe that a loving God would test us with trials, but these tests are also a part of His love. The Bible says those who the Lord disciplines and instructs are blessed (Psalms 94:12). Why would that be? It is because when God teaches you of His ways and disciplines you, He is preparing you and developing your character. He is increasing your faith in Him. You see, God will show you His power in mighty ways, then there will come a time when He will test you to see if you will continue to trust in Him. Take Abraham for example. God asked him to sacrifice the very promise He made him, Isaac. Abraham reasoned in his head that God is faithful to His promises and would probably bring Isaac back from the dead. This is a foreshadow of Jesus by the way.
God is a man of many possibilities despite your circumstances. Our limited understanding cannot possibly fathom how God will come through for us but He will. You have to be patient and you have to trust Him even when the doubt starts circulating in your mind. One thing you want to avoid during your test is comparison. Do not reason how God might come through for you based on what He did with other people. Everybody’s life is different. He knows what is best for you.
When the Wicked Seem to Prosper
Do not look towards the wicked who seem to be prospering in life. You may say “Well, I’ve obeyed God, followed His will, and have been led by the Holy Spirit, but it all seems to be in vain.” Shut those thoughts down. God sees, knows, and hears everything including those who go against Him, but seem to have everything in life. Do not turn your back on God because of this. Leave justice and vengeance in God’s hands. Let Him deal with people how He sees fit while you continue to stay close to Him. It will all be worth it in the end. Best of yet, the change that this trial produces inside of you is invaluable.
Focus your heart, mind, and will on God, the One who can change everything in a matter of moments, including you.
